No, MARIO Education empowers all learners to reach their full potential through one-to-one interactions, training, and targeted software. The MARIO Framework, our pedagogy, began as a flexible structure for learning support classes but can be easily implemented in general education. In fact, we encourage all teachers to make time for one-to-one connections and develop key skills such as executive functioning and self-directed learning.
-
The MARIO Framework is a research-informed pedagogy for personalizing and maximizing learning. Interdisciplinary practices are woven together to create a framework centered on one-to-one learning. Through our courses, you will learn to leverage this intervention with flexible modules to fit any class structure. With our software, you can easily apply and implement the framework while collecting crucial data to inform your pedagogy and decisions.

The MARIO Framework puts into practice the best evidence available from across an interdisciplinary field of research, including neuroscience, medicine, ecological systems theory, psychology, and design thinking. The MARIO Approach was found to close the GPA achievement gap between neurodivergent and typical learners by 27 percent. We define ourselves by our commitment to maintaining integrity of purpose. As a result, you can trust that implementing the framework will deliver optimal outcomes for yourself and your learners. We pull together seminal works, empirically evidenced findings, and the most cutting-edge research to strike the balance between established practice and innovative ideas that show potential. MARIO Educators are committed to both the consistent implementation of high-quality practices and ambitious improvement through deliberate and measured experimentation.

Our courses are tailored for teachers and assistants. If you are looking for a more collaborative experience, take one of our semi-synchronous, level 1 certifications with a cohort. Our other courses are self-study for convenience and contain the same content as level 1 certifications when all combined. Self-study courses are recommended for anyone looking to better their teaching practice at a self-directed pace.

Each course has a different length – ranging from 10 hours to 90 hours. You can see the number of hours for each course on the homepage or on our courses page.

Yes, it absolutely does. The MARIO Framework was created with MTSS in mind. Our goal is to meet the child where they are and prioritize relationships for each tier of intervention. While traditional MTSS are adult-driven systems, MARIO centers on the child and their personal goals. We address all areas of MTSS models but are especially focused on those that require the most attention (Tier 2 & Tier 3).

The MARIO Framework puts into practice the best evidence available from across an interdisciplinary field of research. As a result, you can trust that implementing the framework will deliver optimal outcomes for yourself and your learners. We pull together seminal works, empirically evidenced findings, and the most cutting-edge research to strike the balance between established practice and innovative ideas that show potential. The MARIO Approach, our unique one-to-one conversational protocol was found to have an efficacy .83 to .99, meaning it is rated in the top 5% of learning interventions. As measured practitioners, we monitor student responses to experimental approaches and adjust our instruction accordingly. Our MARIO for Me software incorporates features that enable the efficient measurement of experimental approaches, allowing for the ethical application of new theories. MARIO Practitioners are committed to both the consistent implementation of high-quality practices and ambitious improvement through deliberate and measured experimentation.

Yes. In fact, we split our educator certification courses into elementary school, middle school and high school, and K-12 cohorts for you to get an experience tailored for your students’ grade levels.
-
Absolutely! The core of the intervention is one-to-one sessions and conferences. You can use The MARIO Approach with all students and even use the flexible modules with small groups of students.
-
The flexible modules allow you to weave the framework into your current timetable. Depending on your context, it could be as little as five minutes with each student during your normal intervention times.
-
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to how you apply The MARIO Framework in your unique context. Throughout our courses, you will conceptualize how to structure applications to fit your particular needs. MARIO Practitioners have experimented with a variety of timetables in order to make the one-to-one learning work. In the elementary years, conversations may occur during center time on a rotational basis. For older students, you may use study hall times or flex scheduling blocks to allow for additional conversations. Cascading schedules, where your conversations are spread out over the course of a week may be another way to adapt to the requirements of your context. Because of the flexible nature of MARIO, there are many creative options available.
